Agricultural Business Basics Letter of Recognition
The Agricultural Business Basics Letter of Recognition is a nine-credit career program designed to learn fundamental concepts in agribusiness and entrepreneurship. Students complete coursework in agricultural business and small business management, earning both a specialized credential and a digital badge upon completion.

The Agricultural Business Basics program provides a streamlined pathway into the study of agricultural commerce and entrepreneurship. Upon successful completion of this Letter of Recognition, students are awarded a digital badge to verify their specialized skills and provide a portable, professional credential for their academic or career portfolios.
Success in the program is defined by your ability to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This program ensures that every student achieves the following core competencies:
- Describe basic practices, concepts, and trends in agricultural business, entrepreneurship, and computing fields.
- Analyze the role of farms and agribusiness in society and the marketing of commodities.
- Illustrate the role of markets and other institutions that affect the farming industry.
- Discuss fundamental business concepts, including the barriers to entry, establishing an independent business, the components of a business, and the elements of successfully managing a business venture.
- Demonstrate computer literacy.
- Describe the role of technology in supporting an agricultural business.
